SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT

Coming to Freewater World Institute of Pastoral Ministries, Nigeria presents opportunities to us as people. Our hope is that we will grow and develop as men and women of God. This means that both individually and as a community, we aim to learn more about who we are, whether male or female, single or married, or from different ethnic backgrounds. Because the spirituality of each student will always be the foundation of his or her ministry, students will be encouraged to enjoy the benefits of a consistent personal devotional life. The College students also participate in prayer meetings and devotional services. Through these experiences, as well as through a continuing mentoring program, the students develop supportive relationships, with each other, with faculty staff, or church leaders. These mentors are available to assist students in meeting their personal, spiritual, academic, and vocational needs.

STATEMENT OF DIVERSITY

Freewater World Institute of Pastoral Ministries believes that the whole counsel of God includes an emphasis that the New Birth in Christ supersedes any racial, gender or socio-economic life (Gal. 3:27-29). In accordance with the Scripture, the College subscribes to and encourages the equal right of all people to pursue excellence in their lives without racial and/or ethnic prejudice or inhibition. Additionally, believing that diversity will help build leaders of character that are able to serve in an increasingly multi-cultural society, the College seeks to promote a campus environment that invites, encourages, and supports multiculturalism. As a result, the College expects all students, staff, and faculty to remove from their behavior and speech, as well as from their thinking, all indications of racial and ethnic bias. Racism in any form will not be tolerated in community life on this campus, and will be met with disciplinary measures. ANNUAL SCHOOL OF EVANGELISM TRAINING: In order to provide students with global exposure to contemporary mission and evangelism issues and challenges, every year, the students participate in this conference. This event may be pivotal for many students in shaping a vision for mission based Church development.
